Geyser is a plumbing fixture brand operating under Kobi Tools, Inc. Kobi is an Illinois-based corporation offering stone-working tools, faucets, sinks, and sink accessories. The company brands itself as a provider of professional products at an affordable price.
Kobi sells its products, along with its Geyser faucets, at various retail sellers throughout the U.S., including Amazon and Overstock. However, the faucets don’t meet the plumbing standards outlined in the U.S. and Canada, including the ANSI/NSF 61/9, which requires faucets to be lead-free and drinking water safe.
Who Makes Geyser Faucets?
Geyser faucets are produced by several manufacturers in China, so the origin of each faucet may vary based on the model. The company isn’t entirely transparent about which of its products come from where, so it’s tough to say which models are manufactured by each facility.
This is a fairly standard practice in the industry, as many brands source their products from manufacturers overseas. Some brands purchase pre-made faucets from overseas sellers and rebrand them as their own after importing them for sale.
In contrast, others have contracted manufacturers who make the brand’s products.
It varies from one brand to the next. It appears that Kobi chooses its Geyser faucets from a standard catalog provided by the manufacturers, so the faucets aren’t made specifically for Kobi.
Since the products aren’t exclusive to Geyser or Kobi, you could likely find identical models available through other brands that follow similar practices.
Where Are Geyser Faucets Made?
Like many products available in the industry today, Geyser’s faucets are made in China. Most faucet brands source their products from Taiwan, Indonesia, and China, but Geyser’s faucets solely come from China.
Labor costs are much lower in these countries than in the U.S., so many brands have chosen to source their products from manufacturers throughout these countries.
Are Geyser Faucets Any Good?
If you’re considering a Geyser faucet, it doesn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with the brand before purchasing the product. We split our response into sections to answer this question and help you decide whether Geyser products are a suitable fit for your home.
Note: Geyser faucets don’t meet North American plumbing standards surrounding lead-free and drinking water requirements, which are essential considerations.
Without testing Geyer’s faucets ourselves over a few years to thoroughly evaluate the quality of its products, it’s tricky to offer a conclusive answer regarding their quality.
However, since that isn’t particularly helpful, we examined the components of Geyser faucets and their customer reviews to provide a bit of insight.
Although Geyser’s faucets aren’t manufactured in compliance with North American plumbing standards, they’re known for their quality. The products feature a solid construction, complete with high-quality cartridges and aerators.
Aside from their composition, Geyser faucets feature high reviews from customers. Of course, there are a few negative reviews scattered across Geyser products, but the majority of reviews we saw (surrounding quality) applauded the quality of these faucets.
That said, feedback varies from one model to the next, so it doesn’t hurt to glance through customer reviews to better understand common problems other customers have experienced with that product.
From the limited Geyser faucets we came across, the general design seems to lean toward modern trends. Many Geyser faucets feature sleek, modern lines that match design trends.
For example, several of Geyser’s kitchen faucets boast high-arc spouts, single-handle designs, pull-out sprayers, and spring-spout features.
The sprayers on several models feature Swiss-engineered Neoperl dual-mode honeycomb nozzles for convenient use and cleanup.
Other than the contemporary designs, Geyser didn’t have much to offer. So, if you’re looking for a traditional or transitional style faucet, you might not find it in Geyser’s lineup. That said, there are a couple of modern faucets, so if you prefer contemporary aesthetics, you might find the perfect fit in Geyser’s lineup.
Geyser’s faucets are pretty affordable, with most of its models available for $150 or less. A few models tip the scales over $150, but most of the products are available for less. Compared to similar models on the market, these products are on-par with other budget-friendly to mid-range brands.
While Geyser’s faucets aren’t the cheapest models on the market, they’re far from the priciest options. If you’re looking for an affordable, stylish faucet, Geyser might have something to meet your needs.
While most faucet brands offer an array of tech-filled faucets, Geyser’s lineup excludes similar taps. The lineup doesn’t feature any touch-on, touchless, or voice-activated faucets, which are a staple in many faucet lineups. Most brands offer at least a few techy models, but Geyser doesn’t.
So, if you prefer the effortless convenience of a touch-on, touchless, or voice-activated faucet, you likely won’t find it in Geyser’s lineup.
According to the Kobi Tools website, Geyser faucets come with a Limited Lifetime warranty that protects the finish and body. In addition, the faucets come with a one-year warranty on parts. However, while most brands offer a specific warranty statement, we didn’t find one with Geyser’s supporting documents.
For a consumer warranty to meet the Magnuson-Moss Act, it must meet nine crucial requirements. Unfortunately, while simple to read, the Geyser warranty doesn’t check off these boxes. While the company will likely honor the warranty, the simplicity could be a roadblock to filing a warranty claim.
Although there are dozens of positive customer reviews on Geyser’s faucets, there are a handful of unhappy customers. Satisfied reviews applaud the faucet’s design, ease of installation, and high-quality components.
On the other hand, dissatisfied customers express dismay about the product’s packaging, premature failure, and poor-quality construction.
Given the drastic contrast in customer feedback, we recommend sifting through the reviews on the product you like before purchasing.
Most brands have a dedicated customer service team responsible for handling customer complaints and issues. In most cases, the customer service team offers solutions and contact information to dissatisfied customers, handling all customer complaints left on its product listings.
However, as we sifted through customer reviews on Geyser’s products, we didn’t find responses from a customer service team.
While dissatisfied customers can contact Kobi concerning Geyser’s products, there isn’t a dedicated team responsible for addressing negative feedback on the brand’s product listings.
