Is Rohl A Good Brand? Read Our Comprehensive Review

The world of kitchen and bathroom fixtures, specifically faucets, is massive. There are dozens of brands, models, styles, designs, finishes, and price points available, giving consumers more than enough choices. You’ll find Rohl – a high-end luxury brand with equally high prices – among the pool of brands.

If you’re on the fence about Rohl faucets, you’re in the right place. We broke down the details surrounding this brand, such as where it manufactures its products, history, pricing, ownership, and more, so without further ado, let’s take a look!

History Of Rohl

Like many faucet brands on the market today, Rohl has been around for more than a few decades. Ken Rohl founded Rohl in 1983, but initially, the company was called Western States Manufacturing Inc.

Almost a decade later, in 1991, the company rebranded as Rohl LLC. Fast forward to today – The House of Rohl is known for its impressive portfolio of beautiful, high-end luxury faucets. The company selects excellent quality products and rebrands them under its name, then imports the products into other countries around the globe, including several countries throughout North America.

Who Owns Rohl?

As of 2022, Fortune Brands Home and Securities Inc. owns Rohl. Rohl’s parent company owns several well-known brands, including Moen and Riobel. Fortune Brands acquired Rohl in the mid-2010s.

Is Rohl Made In The USA?

Rohl products, specifically its sinks and faucets, aren’t made in the USA. Instead, the company’s products are made in various locations across Europe. Many of the faucets found in Rohl’s lineup come from brands in Italy, Germany, and the UK. After the manufacturing process, Rohl imports its products into the USA and other countries for sale.

The company sells several products from English-made brands, including Perrin & Rowe faucets, as well as German-made fixtures, such as Jorger faucets. So, the exact maker of your Rohl faucet may vary based on the precise model – it isn’t the same across the board.

Although Rohl faucets come with a massive price tag, you get what you pay for in these faucets. Rohl’s products are composed of high-quality components (cartridges, finishes, etc.) that can last years with proper care. Many of its designs feature recent advancements in the plumbing industry, such as eco-friendly measures to limit water use.

Aside from this, Rohl has produced several innovative designs in recent years, including filtration solutions and anti-scald valves. These innovative touches appear in many of Rohl’s kitchen and bath products, including its massive selection of faucets (over 500 choices).

Most of Rohl’s faucets feature impressive ratings, averaging 4.6 out of 5 stars on most models. Of course, there are a few complaints about some options, but this is typical of any faucet brand offering products.

Why Are Rohl Faucets So Expensive?

Rohl faucets boast a steep price tag, with most models costing $500 or more. Some models cost over $1,200, so it’s safe to say these faucets aren’t budget-friendly. Instead, they fit into the luxury range, as they’re out of range for those seeking an affordable product.

The high prices stem from the imported aspect of these products. As mentioned, Rohl sells kitchen and bathroom fixtures made in Europe. Since the company imports its products and sells them under its own name, these products come with a hefty price tag.

Do Rohl Faucets Have A Good Warranty?

You’ll probably expect an excellent warranty if you’re investing several hundred dollars into a faucet (sometimes more than a thousand). In this aspect, Rohl doesn’t disappoint. Each of its faucets and plumbing fixtures features a limited lifetime warranty.

The warranty covers the basics, including guarantees protection against defects in workmanship and material. Like most, Rohl’s warranty excludes damage sustained due to misuse, abuse, and other scenarios outside its control.

In addition, there are a few terms and conditions to its warranty coverage. For example, if you use Blue RTV silicone during the faucet installation, you automatically void the product’s warranty. Or, if you install the product outside, you will also void your warranty, as harsh weather conditions can cause the faucet to deteriorate rapidly.

Are Rohl Faucets Worth The Cost?

Undoubtedly, the price of a Rohl faucet trumps almost every other commonly-known faucet brand pricing. These faucets skyrocket above $1,000 per fixture, which seems extravagant for a single tap.

However, these faucets are considered luxury faucets, which partially explains the price. On top of that, they’re composed of high-quality materials and feature impressive warranties, so the price seems to make sense. That said, every scenario is different, so Rohl faucets might not be the best fit for every home.

For some folks, the steep price of Rohl kitchen and bathroom fixtures might be a turn-off. After all, spending over a thousand dollars on a single kitchen or bathroom fixture may seem excessive for those on a budget. So, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly (or more affordable) kitchen or bathroom faucet, Rohl isn’t your best option.

However, they’re an excellent choice if you don’t mind the hefty price that accompanies these faucets. You’ll have hundreds of options to choose from, so you shouldn’t have any issues finding something that matches your aesthetic preferences. But ultimately, the choice is yours, so pick the best option for your needs!

  1. Terrible customer service. They ignore emails and if you get someone to answer the phone they will not connect you with anyone that has the emails. Then they tell you what you want to hear and promise to respond to the problem within a couple of days. Yep, you guessed it, they never respond as promised. The faucets look beautiful but are a throw away item as the do not honor their warranty. Considering the lack of customer service and warranty you can buy an attractive throw away for less than 1/2 the price. Never again for me.
