However, while these brands are known for their products’ quality, what about the warranty? This article dives into the specifics of Delta and its product warranty offerings, so continue reading to learn more!

Do Delta Faucets Come With A Lifetime Warranty?

Most Delta faucets feature an excellent warranty extending for specific durations. However, this warranty does have some limitations and requirements, so it isn’t necessarily a “lifetime” warranty. The limited warranty ranges depending on the type of faucet, the application, and a few other things, which we outline in the following sections.

What Is Covered By A Delta Faucet Warranty?

Delta’s faucet warranty guarantees that all parts and finishes of its products will be free from defects in material and workmanship. This guarantee extends for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home wherein the faucet was initially installed.

For commercial customers, Delta faucets feature a five- to ten-year warranty, depending on the application. Commercial purchasers who install the product in a multi-family residential application receive a 10-year warranty. In contrast, commercial consumers for all other scenarios (apartments, hotels, airports, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, etc.) receive a 5-year warranty.

Suppose you have a smart faucet with electronic components and purchased the product from an authorized seller or deltafaucet.com. In that case, the components are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for five years beyond the initial purchase date. For commercial customers, this warranty shortens to a single year.

What Isn’t Covered By A Delta Faucet Warranty?

Delta outlines specific areas where its warranty doesn’t offer coverage. For example, if you buy your Delta faucet from an unauthorized seller and something happens to your faucet, you can’t expect to receive warranty coverage from Delta. The company is unable to perform quality control on third-party products sold by unauthorized sellers, so the warranty doesn’t extend to these products.

In addition, the warranty excludes professional plumber labor charges associated with the product’s repair, replacement, or installation/removal. These charges fall to the consumer.

Aside from these aspects, the warranty excludes damage to the faucet that results from everyday wear and tear, misuse, abuse, outdoor use, neglect, freezing water, use in unintended applications, improper installation, or incorrect maintenance and repair (including improper care and cleaning).

As mentioned, Delta offers coverage on its faucets featuring electronic components. However, this warranty coverage excludes batteries, even those purchased from Delta and other authorized Delta sellers.

What Do I Need To Claim A Delta Faucet Warranty?

Like most well-known faucet brands, Delta requires certain pieces of information for warranty claims. Without each component, you might not be able to utilize your product’s warranty.

You’ll need to know the specific product and model you have, as this will aid in obtaining the proper replacement parts. The company will ask for your model number, which you can find in the information packet that came with the faucet. If you contact the company via mail, be sure to include all of the necessary information in the envelope.

In addition, you’ll need proof of purchase and the date of original purchase, usually in the form of an original sales receipt. Otherwise, if you registered the product with Delta Faucet Company or have a Delta Recertified product (purchased from deltafaucet.com), you may not need the receipt.

These guidelines apply to all Delta products manufactured after January 1, 2019, and installed in the U.S.A., Canada, or Mexico. Products manufactured before this window may have different warranty claim requirements, so consult Delta’s customer service team for assistance.

What Will Delta Do To Resolve A Warranty Claim?

Delta’s actions to remedy and resolve a warranty claim vary based on the particular claim. In some cases, the company may refuse warranty coverage. This happens when the damage or issue falls outside the warranty’s coverage spectrum (such as misuse or neglect).

In scenarios where the issue lies within the scope of coverage, Delta Faucet Company will repair or replace the part or finish that proves defective, free of charge. Of course, the issue must fall within the applicable warranty period and prove defective in material or workmanship under regular use and service.

Delta might send you new, refurbished, or recertified parts to remedy the problem as repair or replacement. The route the company takes is at its sole discretion. Sometimes, the company may opt to refund the purchase price in exchange for the product’s return. This is usually the go-to option when repair or replacement of the product isn’t practical.

How Do I Get Free Delta Replacement Parts?

Although you can’t always get “free” replacement parts for your Delta faucet, there are a few scenarios where Delta’s warranty may offer free replacement parts. As mentioned earlier, Delta may send you replacement components for your faucet free of charge, providing the issue meets Delta’s warranty conditions.

Are Delta Faucet Warranties Transferable?

Unfortunately, Delta faucet warranties are restricted to the original consumer purchaser and the house where the product was originally installed. The company explicitly outlines these terms in its warranty information guide, stating the warranty extends solely to the original consumer purchaser.

How Long Do Delta Faucets Last?

For the most part, a Delta faucet will last one to two decades. However, it isn’t unheard of for a Delta faucet to remain functional for upwards of 30 years. Of course, proper care and maintenance are essential for a lengthy faucet lifespan. In addition, some of Delta’s products are higher-end, so they tend to last a bit longer than the budget-friendly options.

Are Delta Faucets Good?

Delta faucets are an excellent option for nearly any home, whether you want to use them in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or outdoor bar. The company offers a wide array of beautiful designs, features, and finishes, so there’s plenty to choose from.

Overall, the quality of Delta faucets is solid, giving them a durable nature that can withstand regular residential use for decades. As mentioned, Delta offers a range of faucets, so the budget-friendly models might be less durable than their high-end counterparts.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, well-designed faucet that will last for many years, Delta products are an excellent option.

How Do I Identify My Delta Faucet?

Correctly identifying your Delta faucet is an essential part of the warranty claim process, as failing to identify the product could lead to receiving improper replacement parts. So, it’s vital to determine which model you have correctly.

You can quickly determine the model by locating the model number, as this will indicate the type of faucet you have. You can find the model number printed on the box if you still have the original packaging from the tap. You’ll find the number printed near the UPC code on the box or in one of the top corners.

Or, if you have the installation instructions that came with the product, you can find the model number on or in the packet. Since many of us don’t save these parts after we purchase the product, you might not have this information.

Check for a model identification tag on the faucet if that’s the case. This is standard on most models manufactured after 2012. You should find this tag attached to the supply lines underneath the faucet.

Contact Delta’s customer service team if all else fails and you can’t determine which model you have. They might be able to help you identify your faucet based on a few factors. Generally, they’ll need a photo of the faucet and can help you from there.

  1. Delta Kitchen faucet started dripping water. We bought a new construction house from a builder/contractor 5 years ago. We had no receipt for the faucet. I emailed Delta Faucet Co. asking about their lifetime warranty. The customer service responded right away asked me to send pictures of the faucet. I took 5 pictures-above and below the sink as they requested- sent them the same day. I got an email saying that they are evaluating. Next day I got an email saying that they have sent me a new cartridge free of charge. The cartridge arrived in 5 days and it works great. Overall, their response was very quick. I’m pleased with their customer service.

  2. 8/19/24: My Delta kitchen faucet has been leaking for some months now. Lately, much worse than before, some nights it leaks 4 or 5 cups of water overnight; I only have a brochure that came with it; showing model 21902LF; (another number -not sure for what is 86684 in black box); This faucet was installed by licensed plumber T&T Plumbing, Greg Tarpley on 2-2-2020; along with other plumbing services at that time. Can you tell me if I have any rights of a new faucet on this? I would appreciate it. Roberta Sweetland, 19399 Edgewood Road, Athens, AL
