Aimadi is a lesser-known brand offering plumbing fixtures to consumers around the globe. While its faucets feature visually appealing designs that mimic popular design trends, are they actually any good? This article explores Aimadi and its offerings, so continue reading to learn more.
Aimadi is a Chinese brand operating under Wenzhou Aimadi Technology Co., a larger company that sells faucets through various online sites that host third-party sellers. In broken, somewhat confusing English, the brand’s website states that it is a professional faucet manufacturer specializing in producing and exporting various types of sanitary products.
In addition, the brand offers OEM and ODM services.
Aimadi’s product lineup includes several kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including:
- Kitchen faucets
- Kitchen accessories
- Bathroom faucets
- Shower systems
Where Can You Buy Aimadi Faucets?
Aimadi sells its products solely through retailers that allow third-party sales, like Amazon and eBay. So, while these faucets are widely available on those sites, particularly Amazon, they’re unavailable through mainstream home improvement brands like Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Ace Hardware.
Here are some bestsellers on Amazon:
Who Makes Aimadi Faucets?
Based on the choppy information available on Aiamadi’s North American website, it seems that Aimadi manufactures its own faucets. It states that it has a manufacturing facility to produce a range of kitchen sinks and faucets. The site further lists the tools and equipment in its facility, including CNC machines, automatic lathes, manual lathes, and punching machines.
However, whether this singular facility produces all of its plumbing fixtures or only some is unknown. It isn’t unclear if the factory operates under Aimadi or its parent company, Wenzhou Aimadi Technology Co.
Where Are Aimadi Faucets Made?
The exact origins of Aimadi faucets are unknown, although they come from China. These faucets are imported into various countries around the globe, including the United States, for sale. However, pinpointing the exact origin of these faucets is tricky, as Aimadi doesn’t openly broadcast this information.
While it’s possible that the faucets are produced at the Wenzhou Aimadi Technology Co. location in Zhejiang, they may also come from numerous manufacturing facilities throughout the country.
Are Aimadi Faucets Any Good?
Based on our research, we recommend thinking twice before investing in an Aimadi faucet for several reasons, including the uncertified, black market nature of these faucets to the questionable warranty. Here’s our take on these faucets.
Note: These faucets do not meet the necessary standards for water systems in Canada and the United States and therefore are considered contraband faucets.
While Aimadi’s website proudly boasts it uses high-quality materials for its faucets, it’s tricky to thoroughly evaluate the quality of a product without hands-on testing. The website states it uses solid brass, ceramic cartridges, and flow regulators to ensure quality products.
In addition, it states that it places heavy emphasis on quality control using a strict policy that conforms to international standards. However, after further research, we found no evidence that these faucets meet or exceed the standards for certification in the United States or Canada.
For example, the United States Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) requires faucet manufacturers to register their products to ensure they meet federal water conservation standards. Unfortunately, while Aimadi makes a blanket statement of conforming to international standards, we found no evidence these faucets are registered with the EPCA or meet such standards.
Because of this, these faucets are not permitted to be installed in any drinking water system in the United States, subject to a plumbing code. Installing these faucets in violation of this risks significant financial penalties.
So, while the brand may use solid quality components, these faucets don’t currently meet North American standards.
The designs of Aimadi faucets are undoubtedly modern. The lineup is well-designed, featuring many styles popular in today’s market. The faucets don’t have anything unique to offer that you can’t find in other Chinese-made faucets, but they’re in line with many modern design trends.
For example, many of its kitchen faucets feature a pull-down spring spout with a single handle and a single-hole configuration. Several models feature a pot filler that is separate from the central spout, allowing you to conveniently fill pots without using the spray head. This particular design feature isn’t overly popular in European and North American design trends but seems to be a commonality in many Chinese-made kitchen faucets.
The price tag on these faucets is a notable upside, as they’re competitively priced compared to many options on the market. Most of these faucets cost less than $120, although a few models tip the scales over that mark. These prices are surprisingly inexpensive compared to faucets from big-name brands like Kohler, Moen, or Delta.
However, they’re pricier than some Chinese-made faucets we’ve seen and from in-house home improvement brands like Glacier Bay (Home Depot) or Project Source (Lowe’s).
Aimadi is behind the curve when it comes to technology. While the brand offers the basics, like LED lights that indicate temperature, it doesn’t offer popular tech features. For example, many mainstream brands are offering touch-on, touchless, and voice-activated faucets for ultimate convenience.
Unfortunately, Aimadi doesn’t offer any features of the sort (accurate at the time of writing).
The warranty on Aimadi’s faucets is questionable, at best. The brand’s listings on Amazon state, “You may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer’s website.” However, a quick search for Aimaidi’s faucet warranties turns up nothing on the brand’s website.
Most brands offer detailed, specific information in their warranties, including lengths, inclusions, exclusions, and other pertinent details. The best faucet warranties in the industry usually last a lifetime and offer a leak and drip-free guarantee. Aimaid’s elusive warranty seemingly provides nothing of the sort, if it exists at all.
That said, a 30-refund option through Amazon allows customers to return items in their original condition for a full refund or replacement. However, specific details on the return policy may exclude your product from a return.
Despite the questionable warranty and certifications surrounding Aimadi faucets, they’re surprisingly popular and well-rated. Many faucets boast strong customer reviews, with happy customers applauding the easy installation, beautiful finishes, and modern designs.
Conversely, unhappy customers cite issues with premature malfunctions or failure, water temperature, functionality, and customer service. Given the disparity in feedback from one product to the next, we recommend sifting through reviews on the product before purchasing it.
Many mainstream brands have a customer service team responsible for handling all customer complaints and negative feedback. In our research, we’ve noticed many of these brands respond to negative feedback, offering a solution or contact information for further assistance.
However, in our journey sifting through Aimadi customer reviews, we didn’t see responses from the brand’s customer service team, despite the dozens of negative reviews across various products. Instead, the brand encourages customers to reach out through Amazon, where they say they’ll respond within 24 hours at the latest.
Amazon allows customers to contact the seller directly through the platform, so if you bought an Aimadi faucet, that is one option. Alternatively, contact the brand through one of the following options:
